On March 11th, according to the local time of TASS, citing relevant departments, Moscow Oblast in Russia was attacked by a drone in the early morning of the same day, resulting in one death, at least five injuries, and damage to 20 vehicles.
According to reports, sources pointed out that the wreckage of the drone hit an apartment building in Ramenskoye, causing damage to at least 7 apartments. During this period, 12 people were forced to evacuate, including 3 children.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 91 drones were shot down in the Moscow area. The Russian Ministry of Defense also reported that since the early morning of the 11th local time, the Russian air defense system has shot down a total of 337 drones, including 126 in Kursk Oblast, 38 in Bryansk Oblast, 25 in Belgorod Oblast, 22 in Ryazan Oblast, 10 in Kaluga Oblast, 8 each in Lipetsk Oblast and Oryol Oblast, 6 in Voronezh Oblast, and 3 in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, in addition to Moscow Oblast. According to local media citing data from the Russian Ministry of Defense, this is the largest Ukrainian drone attack of 2025.
Moscow Oblast Governor Vorobyov stated on the 11th that Moscow and Moscow Oblast were hit by large-scale drone attacks starting from 4am that day. Moscow Mayor Sobyanin posted on social media on the 11th that Moscow was hit by a large-scale drone attack in the early morning of the 11th. As of 6:00 local time, the Russian air defense system had shot down 58 Ukrainian drones that were attacking Moscow.
On the 11th, the mayor of Domodedovo, Moscow Oblast, stated that the wreckage of a drone crashed and caused damage to the railway tracks. The Domodedovo railway station has suspended train traffic, and a fire broke out in a local supermarket parking lot. Rescue personnel are currently working on the scene to deal with the situation. On the 11th, Moscow Railway Company announced that due to the wreckage of a Ukrainian drone falling, the railway infrastructure at Domodedovo Station suffered minor damage, with no casualties reported. On the morning of the 11th, the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency announced that in order to ensure the safety of civilian flights, Moscow Domodedovo Airport, Zhukovsky Airport, Sheremetyevo Airport, and Vnukovo Airport implemented temporary air traffic control. At 8:55 local time, Sheremetyevo Airport announced the lifting of control.
According to media analysis, the drones that attacked Moscow were launched from Chernihiv Oblast, Sumy Oblast, and Dnipropetrovsk Oblast in Ukraine. The drones flew in groups of 6 to 12 to prevent air defense systems from responding in a timely manner. As of now, all drones have been shot down. According to sources from the Russian Ministry of Defense, the Ukrainian attack was an attempt to divert attention from the failure of the Ukrainian armed forces in Kursk Oblast. The Ukrainian military attempted to use large-scale attacks on civilian buildings to create a false sense of "victory" and prepare psychologically for the withdrawal of the Ukrainian army from the Suja region.
At present, there is no response from the Ukrainian side regarding this.
