The Intersolar Europe 2024 will be held grandly in Munich, Germany from June 19-21 local time. As the world's largest and most influential solar energy professional exhibition and trade fair, this exhibition attracted about 3000 companies to participate, among which Longi has attracted much attention for its outstanding technological achievements and innovative solutions.
Innovation leads, breaking world records again
Shortly after announcing the new world record for 34.6% crystalline silicon perovskite stacked cells at the SNEC exhibition in Shanghai, Longi once again achieved a significant breakthrough. On June 19th local time, after third-party independent certification by the Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Cells (ISE) in Germany, the commercial M6 size crystalline silicon perovskite stacked cell developed by the Longi stacking team achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of 30.1%, a significant increase of 1.5 percentage points from the previous record.
Since October 2023, the R&D team of LONGi has been conducting research on the mass production technology of stacked batteries for commercial applications. In just six months, they have overcome two key challenges: the preparation of large-area perovskite films in the air and ultra-low temperature metallization. For the first time, they have achieved a photoelectric conversion efficiency of over 30% on commercial sized devices. The theoretical limit efficiency of the crystalline silicon perovskite stacked cell is as high as 43%, and it is considered as the next generation of ultra efficient solar cells. Longi's breakthrough in this field not only redefines the efficiency limit of two end stacked batteries, but also takes a crucial step towards industrialization, consolidating its leading position in the two mainstream tracks of crystalline silicon single junction batteries and stacked batteries, and becoming the "dual material champion" of battery efficiency world records in both tracks. This series of breakthroughs reflects Longi's efficient R&D system guided by industrialization and centered on customer needs, rapidly introducing cutting-edge technologies into mass production and promoting industry technological upgrades.
BC full scenario product, meeting diverse needs
In the current rapidly developing global photovoltaic technology and increasingly diverse customer demands, LONGi stands out with its innovative BC cell technology route and high-performance products. At this exhibition, Longi unveiled its BC full scenario products for the first time in Europe, covering distributed, centralized and other scenario products, as well as functional scenario solutions such as anti dust and moisture resistance.
The Hi-MO 9 component released in Madrid, Spain on May 7th is an outstanding representative of Longi BC products. This product is built on high-efficiency HPBC 2.0 battery technology, with advantages such as higher power generation capacity, lower BOS cost, and higher reliability. It has a maximum power of 660W and a conversion efficiency of 24.43%. Hi - MO 9 has received a warm response from the market since its launch, with nearly 1GW of orders in hand and over 5GW of customer order reserves. This market feedback highlights the potential and value of BC technology, and also prompts Longi to accelerate its expansion pace. In the next three years, the annual production capacity of Longi monocrystalline silicon wafers, BC cells, and monocrystalline modules will significantly increase, and Hi-MO 9 is expected to be mass-produced on a large scale in the fourth quarter of this year.
With the support of three certificates, hydrogen energy is safe and reliable
On June 20th, DEKRA, the world's leading third-party inspection and certification agency, issued the DEKRA AOC (Assessment of Compliance) certificate and DEKRA carbon footprint verification certificate for Longi's hydrogen electrolysis water hydrogen production system and alkaline electrolysis cell. The DEKRA K196 standard AOC certificate comprehensively certifies the safety, stability, DC power consumption, and other key performance indicators of a 1000 standard cubic meter/hour electrolytic water hydrogen production system, proving its compliance with standards, safe and reliable performance, and high efficiency and economy. Meanwhile, according to ISO14067 and PAS2050 standards, DEKRA's verification shows that the carbon emissions during the entire lifecycle of Longi ALK Hi1-1000 standard cubic meters/hour series alkaline water electrolysis hydrogen production products are far below the whitelist limit of the hydrogen energy leader action.
Zhang Haimeng, Vice President of Longi Green Energy, stated that Longi Hydrogen Energy is committed to becoming a leading global manufacturer and solution provider of large-scale green hydrogen equipment, contributing to global carbon neutrality through "green electricity" and "green hydrogen" solutions. The three certificates obtained this time are a high recognition of the quality of Longi's hydrogen energy products and its efforts to promote energy transformation. In 2023, Longi Hydrogen Energy has achieved excellent results in terms of domestic market share, global production capacity of alkaline electrolysis cells, and global gas production per cell. In the future, Longi Hydrogen Energy will continue to increase research and development investment, enhance product competitiveness, expand application scenarios, and contribute more to the global energy transformation.
Longi's outstanding performance at the European International Solar Energy Exhibition showcases its strong technological strength and innovation capabilities in the fields of photovoltaics and hydrogen energy, injecting strong impetus into the global green transformation.
